Warwick Boys Basketball 2022 Season Recap

Manheim Central knocked off rival Cocalico in Week 10... 42-20 on the strength of a HUGE 2nd half! Barons outscored the Eagles 35-6 in the 3rd & 4th quarters! In doing so, Manheim Central finished 9-1 overall AND forced a 3-way tie for the Section 2 Title! Warwick, Manheim Central and Cocalico with split the trophy this year! Manheim Central caught fire in the 2nd half against Garden Spot, pulling away for the 70-49 victory! Barons are 2-0 in Section 2 play; 7-2 overall!

-- Trey Grube led all scorers with 26 points, 5-3pters! He is now 2nd All-Time in the L-L League with 252 Career 3's! Grube also has 1,394 Career points... which is #3 in Manheim Central History!

9 Wins in a row for the Cocalico Eagles who slide by a pesky Garden Spot club 1-0! Breck Popolis had the only goal of the game in the 38th minute, scoring his 1st Career Goal for the Eagles! Aaron Wilczek another shutout to keep the winning streak alive for Cocalico, who stand atop Section 2 at 6-0 & 9-3-1 overall!

Warwick’s bid to win their 1st District 3 Title since 1984 ran out of steam as #1 Reading handed the Warriors a 68-43 loss in the 6A Finals! It was Reading’s 23rd ?? a District 3 record! Ruben Rodriguez had a Game-High 23 points for the Red Knights... check out these game highlights! For the Warriors, Tate Landis, Avery Sapp & Caleb Johnsen all had 10 points! Warwick now moves onto the 6A PIAA State Tournament. They host District 7, 4th Place team... Mt. Lebanon on Wednesday, March 9 at 6pm!
