Boy’s Basketball Hempfield vs. Warwick (2/17/21)

In our first High School baseball game of the Spring, Manheim Central jumped out to a big lead & held on for the 6-5 win over Cocalico! Barons Colton Book had a 3-run HR in the 1st! SP Connor Rohrer gets the Win; had 6 K’s! Also need to give a shoutout to Cocalico Freshman pitcher Trent Dickson, who threw 5 shutout innings in relief, gave up just 1 hit to a potent Barons lineup! On SportsTalk's Annual "L-L Football Coaches Show", the guys talked with Garden Spot Head Coach Matt Zamperini, who enters his 3rd year in charge of the Spartans! Hear what Coach Z had to say about his team & what he feels the strengths are that will lead them to victory!

Manheim Central took Round #1 of the Section 2 Showdown with Ephrata... 31-17! Lady Mounts jumped out to an early 7-0 lead, but Central clamped down defensively & finished the game on a 31-10 run!

-- Maddie Knier (MC) led all scorers with 15 points

-- Jasmine Griffin (Eph) was held to a season-low 5 points

Hempfield denied Warwick a trip to the L-L League Finals with a 49-43 win! Black Knights outscored the Warriors 13-6 in the 4th quarter to get the W! Hempfield is into the L-L Championship for the 3rd year in a row, where they will face Section 2 Champ, Manheim Central, on Friday at 7pm!

-- Warwick's next game is Monday, February 20 in the District 3 Playoffs... they will host Donegal at 7pm!
