Atlantic League Baseball: Southern Maryland vs. Lancaster (8-7-24)

?WHAT A MATCH? Cocalico & Warwick wrestled an intense Section 1 match that saw the Eagles race out to a commanding 24-0 lead, only to have Warwick rattle off 6 bouts in a row to tie it 24-24! Both teams traded pins at 145 & 152…ending in a 30-30 TIE! So we went to criteria & Warwick pulled out the 31-30 win on the strength of winning 7 bouts on the night compared to Cocalico’s 6! Cocalico Head Coach Bryan Strohl & several of his players sat down with us at this year's football media day, held at the LNP Downtown Lancaster headquarters! Last year, the Eagles made it back to back 5A District 3 Championships... BUT came up 2 yards short in the State Semifinals! Now they look to replace a ton of Senior leadership heading into the 2024 Season! Hear how Cocalico plans to do that with a different group of guys!

Cedar Crest defeated Warwick 45-40 to win the L-L League Boys Title Back-to-Back & their 6th in school history! RJ Young scored 9 first quarter points to give the Falcons a 13-6 lead! Warwick stormed back in the 2nd quarter with a 14-4 run to take a 20-19 lead at halftime! In the 3rd quarter, the Falcons went on a 10-0 run to take a 29-22 lead only to see Warwick answer with an 8-0 run to take the lead BACK, to finish the quarter leading 32-31! Cedar Crest finished strong in the 4th, out-scoring the Warriors 14-8 to raise the trophy again! Seniors Danny Speaks and RJ Young each scored 14 points to lead Cedar Crest, while Senior Parker Horst led all scorers with 15 points for Warwick!
