Elco earned the 3-0 shutout against Manheim Central in early, non-league action! Jevan Marquette (13’), Cru Frederick (23’) & Ben Macchione (55’) scored for the Raiders! Central Goalie Zach Spangler made a nice PK save in the opening minutes of the game, the Elco Offense was too much! Barons drop Game 1 of the season, while Elco moves to 2-0 with a 4-0 margin of victory!
Warwick and Manheim Central braved the elements for a non-league showdown in L-L Softball! Warwick came away with the victory 11-2 over Central! Warriors jumped out to an early 4-0 lead & tacked on more to lead it 8-0 after 3 innings! Warwick's Mackenzie Ellis, Sophia Steffy & Sophie Smutz each had a pair of hits & runs to get the Offense going! Warriors Pitching Ace Kate Shaak (7 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 3 BB, 13 K) went the distance for her 37th Career Win! Central’s Kayleigh Detz had a triple & a single (her courtesy runner scored both runs)... Abbi Logan had a pair of RBI singles!
Fantastic Finish in the 3A District 3 Playoff First Round between L-L League foes Solanco & Cocalico! Lady Eagles trailed 1-0 late in the game, BUT Chloe Martin tied it in the 70th minute! Addi Martin played hero once AGAIN in the 80th min… Game-Winning strike with 1 sec ? Cocalico WINS 2-1! Lady Eagles move onto the 3A Quarterfinals...
Cocalico took care of business against Garden Spot in a Section 2 matchup, beating the Spartans 3-0 (25-6, 25-17, 25-15)! Eagles moved to 8-1 overall & 5-1 in Section 2, just a game back of Manheim Central! 🔹Josh Byrom led the Eagles with 10 kills, Reilly Stark had 7! Senior Colson Hildebrand served really well with 9 aces thru out the 3 games! Jacob Wambolt had 26 assists!
