Warwick Baseball 6A State Championship Recap (6-16-22)

#6 Manheim Central moved onto the next round of 5A District 3 Playoffs after a 32-25 win over #11 Cocalico! Lady Barons also qualified for the PIAA State Tournament in March! For Central, Gianna Walters had 12 points, including a pair of 3-pointers… giving her a Single-Season High 51–3’s (101 Career)! Maddie Gehman added 11 points, 9 in the first half to get the Lady Barons going! Cocalico’s Kira Lehman dropped a Game-High 14 points, but the Lady Eagles season ended at 12-11!

▪️Next up: 5A District 3 Quarterfinals -- #6 Manheim Central at #3 Northern York (Thursday, February 20 - 7pm at Northern York HS)

Cocalico jumped out to an early 3-0 lead at halftime against Donegal! Lady Eagles went onto win this one 5-0, in the 1st EVER playoff meeting between these L-L League foes! Chloe Martin (Cocalico's leading scorer) netted 2 goals... while Kira Lehman, Brielle Martin & Liv Smith also added goals! Cocalico punched their ticket back to the District 3 Semifinals in back to back seasons (2024 & 2023... only time in program history that's happened)

And the Winner of Round 1 of this year's Girls ? Volleyball “Backyard Brawl” = EPHRATA ?? Lady Mounts remain UNbeaten this season with a 3-0 win over Cocalico! Ephrata stands atop Section 2 at 6-0… they are 9-0 Overall! Check out these highlights...

#2 Manheim Central UPSET in the 5A District 3 Playoffs by #7 Exeter... 43-27! Eagles RB Eric Nangle had a monster day on the ground with 230 yards & 3 TD's! With the win, Exeter advanced to the 5A District 3 Semifinals against #6 Cedar Cliff!

Manheim Central finished their season 9-2, with a share of the Section 2 Title! Great Season Barons... see you next Fall!
