5A District 3 Boy’s Basketball: York Suburban vs. Cocalico (3-9-21)

On our annual "Sportstalk L-L Football Coaches Show Extravaganza", we chatted with Ephrata Football Head Coach Kris Miller about his Mounts squad! #5 Cocalico won convincingly in the 1st round of the 3A District 3 ⚽️ Playoffs… beating #12 Eastern York 5-0! Timmy Hambright scored first for the Eagles in the 6th minute & scored again in the 36th minute to give him 2 of Cocalico’s 5 goals! Talen Popolis (13 goals: team lead) had 2 as well for the Eagles! Eli Barry added to the scoring just a minute into the 2nd half! This is the most goals in a single game by Cocalico this season!

🔹#5 Cocalico advanced to the 3A Quarterfinals on Thursday, October 24 to face #4 Shippensburg on the road!

Ephrata came out strong & took Game 1 from Manheim Central. ONLY their 2nd game surrendered this season! But the Barons regrouped & stormed back to win 3 games in a row! Central remains unbeaten at 10-0, knocking off Ephrata 3-1! Barons swept the season series 2-0! ALL eyes on the rematch with Garden spot next week!

Warwick had Penn Manor on “upset alert” late in this ballgame… all tied 4-4 heading into the 7th inning! But the Comets pushed 3 runs across in the top of the 7th & slammed the door shut to win 7-4! Penn Manor won the season series 3-0 & kept their League Playoff hopes alive (but ultimately fell 1 win short to qualify)!
