2024 Springs Sports Schedule release

The Blue Ridge 11 Spring Sports Schedule is officially set! On the latest episode of Sportstalk, our panel talked about the match-ups they’re looking forward to this Spring AND some new features at our local high school facilities!

5A District 3 Boys Basketball Playoffs – Quarterfinals: #9 Warwick vs. #1 Hershey (2-22-24)

In another fast-paced, entertaining District 3 playoff game… #9 Warwick came up just short against #1 Hershey… 62-58! Trojans’ 6’6” Isaiah Danner was a monster in the post, scoring 17pts & wracking up plenty of fouls on the Warriors! Caleb Johnsen led Warwick with 18pts (3-3’s)! Warwick did hit 11 - 3’s to stay in the game, but foul trouble & too many offensive boards by Hershey proved to be the difference!

▪️#9 Warwick now faces #5 Manheim Central in the District 3 consolation semis on Monday, February 26 at Doe Run Elementary (7PM)... it’ll be the 3rd meeting between the Section 2 foes!

Boys Soccer: Ephrata vs. Cocalico (9-17-24)

Cocalico wins Round 1 of the "Backyard Brawl" beating Ephrata 4-0! Timmy Hambright got the scoring started in the 10th minute off a Cade Upson assist! Then Jordan Wambolt & David Pierdomenico made it 3-0 at halftime! Hambright added a 2nd goal 2 minutes after the break! Eagles win & will face Ephrata again on October 1 in a crucial Section 2 late season showdown!

L-L Girl’s Basketball: Manheim Central vs. Cocalico (2-8-22)

Manheim Central gets the WIN & the Section 3 Title after knocking off rival Cocalico... 56-27! It’s the Lady Barons’ 1st Section Trophy since 2012 (they will share it with Lampeter-Strasburg this year) Maddie Knier led all scorers with 23pts, Abbie Reed had 13… Teagan Sahm led Cocalico with 16pts! Boys Lacrosse: Garden Spot vs. Cocalico (4-11-23)

Impressive showing from Cocalico Boys Lacrosse! The Eagles stayed undefeated, moving to 8-0, after they handled business against Garden Spot......17-5! History making night for Zach Belknap, who set Cocalico's Career scoring record with 111 goals & counting! He had 4 total in tonight's win!
