5A District 3 Football Playoffs: Quarterfinals – #5 Shippensburg vs. #4 Conestoga Valley (11-8-24)

Conestoga Valley kept their UNDEFEATED season alive beating Shippensburg 35-24 in the 5A District 3 Quarterfinals! CV equaled the program’s Best start to a season at 11-0, tied with the 1985 Buckskins! CV’s Isaiah Sensenig ran the opening kickoff back 88 yards for a TD! Buckskins had 4 other rushing touchdowns in the game (Teagan Ruble – 2; Jayden Johnson – 1; Sawyer Esbenshade – 1) Conestoga Valley advanced to the District 3 Semifinals for the first time since 2000!

▪️Warwick beat Lancaster Mennonite 59-35 in the L-L Semifinals, thanks to a Career-High 20 points from Caleb McCamant (3-3’s)! Ya’Majesty Washington added 18 points (4-3’s)… both players combined to outscore LMH 38-35! Warwick’s Defense also held Cody Fisher, the League’s 6th highest scorer (17PPG), to just 2 points!

Girls Soccer: Ephrata vs. Cocalico (9-2-25)

Great matchup between Ephrata and Cocalico girls ⚽️ in the “Backyard Brawl”… the ONLY meeting this season! But despite both teams’ Best effort… neither Offense scored against the other’s Defense! Great goal keeping from Ephrata’s Amaya Jones & Cocalico’s Molly Barrett! This one went 100 heart-pounding minutes of scoreless action & ended in a 0-0 draw!

🔹Cocalico moved to 3-0-2 while Ephrata is now 2-1-1!

Atlantic League Baseball: Staten Island vs. Lancaster (6-25-24)

Lancaster Stormers busted out of a slump, beating Staten Island 13-4 in the first game of their series this week! Stormers got home runs from Shawon Dunston Jr., Justin Farmer & Damon Dues… plus, 5 RBI from Joseph Carpenter! All for of those guys combined for 13 RBI... starter Noah Bremer got the win, going 6 innings, giving up 9 hits and just 2 runs!
