Girls Basketball: Conestoga Valley vs. Manheim Central (1-21-25)

On the latest episode of Sportstalk... we continued to talk about the Winter Sports Season & check back in on our local girls basketball teams! In this conversation, we looked at the Ephrata Lady Mounts & Manheim Central Lady Barons... who are both chasing Section Titles this season! The thrill of victory & the agony of defeat! We got both in the final seconds of the Boys 5A District 3 Championship Game! Lower Dauphin denies Cocalico their 1st District 3 Title since 1977 with a last second 24-22 win! Credit both squads on a hard-fought game! Great season for Cocalico, who finishes 16-5 with a Section 3 Title!

The “Backyard Brawl” between Cocalico & Ephrata came down to the FINAL bout of the night… tied 29-29! Ephrata’s Kaleb Sweigart survived a 13-11 decision at 172lbs against Cocalico’s Dane Bollinger! Mounts Won 32-29… picked up their 9th straight dual win to wrap up the season & knocked off the Eagles for the 2nd year in a row!

🔹Cocalico got pins from Chase Breneman (114), Blake Shenk (139) & Nolan Steiner (285)! Sam Hershey (121) earned a Tech Fall!

🔸Ephrata had pins from Noah Tlumach (152) & Quincy Myer (189)! Brody Musser (145) added a Tech Fall!

Manheim Central knocked off rival Cocalico in Week 10... 42-20 on the strength of a HUGE 2nd half! Barons outscored the Eagles 35-6 in the 3rd & 4th quarters! In doing so, Manheim Central finished 9-1 overall AND forced a 3-way tie for the Section 2 Title! Warwick, Manheim Central and Cocalico with split the trophy this year!
