L-L League Football — Week 9 – Garden Spot vs. Manheim Central (10-18-24)

On our annual "Sportstalk L-L Football Coaches Show Extravaganza", we chatted with Manheim Central Football Head Coach Dave Hahn about his Baron team! 9 Wins in a row for the Cocalico Eagles who slide by a pesky Garden Spot club 1-0! Breck Popolis had the only goal of the game in the 38th minute, scoring his 1st Career Goal for the Eagles! Aaron Wilczek another shutout to keep the winning streak alive for Cocalico, who stand atop Section 2 at 6-0 & 9-3-1 overall!

-- Last 4 games of the season for Cocalico: at Conestoga Valley (9/25), at Manheim Central (9/27), at Ephrata (10/1), home vs. Elizabethtown (10/3)!

Ephrata opened up the 2025 High School Baseball Season with a 12-2 Win over cross-town rival Warwick! Mounts Junior pitcher Camryn Simes (1-0) struck out 10 Warwick batters thru 6 innings, giving up 1 hit & 2 runs! Leadoff hitter Ethan Hunt reached base ALL 5 at-bats, scored 4 times (4 BB, 1b, 4 runs, 2 RBI)... The Warriors’ 4 pitchers combined for 13 strikeouts of their own, but gave up 9 walks & hit 4 batters!

🔹Both teams are back at it this week… Ephrata (1-0) hosts Donegal on Wednesday, March 19 at War Memorial Field (7pm)… Warwick (0-1) goes to Hempfield on Friday, March 21 (4:15pm)

Warwick put Manheim Township's unbeaten record to the test, surviving the Blue Streak's 19-4 1st quarter lead... but ultimately came up just a few buckets short... losing 51-46! Township Seniors Sarah Kraus & Kaitlyn Musser each put up 12 points to lead the Blue Streaks in scoring! Warwick Senior Sam Shaak scored a Season High 20 points to keep her Warriors within striking distance!

-- Both teams have games on Wednesday, December 20! Warwick at Solanco... Manheim Township at Hempfield! They'll also host their own Holiday Tournaments over the Winter Break!
