HS Wrestling: Manheim Central vs. Cocalico (1-20-23)

?WHAT A MATCH? Cocalico & Warwick wrestled an intense Section 1 match that saw the Eagles race out to a commanding 24-0 lead, only to have Warwick rattle off 6 bouts in a row to tie it 24-24! Both teams traded pins at 145 & 152…ending in a 30-30 TIE! So we went to criteria & Warwick pulled out the 31-30 win on the strength of winning 7 bouts on the night compared to Cocalico’s 6! Conestoga Valley opened up the season with a convincing 35-0 Win over Penn Manor! Buckskins electric return man Jayden Johnson ran the opening kickoff back 94 yards for a touchdown! CV scored on it's next possession as well, led it 14-0! It was 26-0 at the half... all Buckskins in this one as new QB Sawyer Esbenshade threw 3 TD's in his debut as the Buckskins passer!

Conestoga Valley powered their way to a 31-26 victory over Manheim Central, thanks to a STRONG 4th quarter! CV outscored the Lady Barons 18-10… Tia Logan had 9 of her team high 11 points in the 4th quarter! Maddie Gehman scored a game high 13 points for Manheim Central in the loss!

In a battle of Section 3 Rivals & Title contenders ⚾️? Cocalico took an early 2-0 lead, but Manheim Central pulled ahead 5-3 & stretched it out late to a 13-3 (6 inn.) Win!
