Girls Basketball: Warwick vs. Cocalico (1-24-25)

Conestoga Valley clinched a spot in the L-L League Playoffs with a 55-45 Win over Cocalico! Buckskins relied on a trio of scorers… DaMere Salisbery, Grayson Fisher & Sawyer Esbenshade… who all dropped in 12 points a piece! CV also hit 7 three-pointers in the game! Cocalico was led by Camden Ochs, who had a game-high 15 points… Timmy Hambright added 11!

EPIC comeback for Manheim Central, who trailed Warwick by 15pts in the 2nd quarter & again by 14pts in the 3rd… BUT the Barons posted 45 points in the 2nd half to pull out the victory 69-65! Central’s Mason Rodgers led all scorers with 21 points (5-3pters), Ryan Kenneff has 16 points (10-11 FT)! Ya’Majesty Washington led the Warriors with 19 points (3-3pters), Caleb Johnsen added 16!

?WHAT A MATCH? Cocalico & Warwick wrestled an intense Section 1 match that saw the Eagles race out to a commanding 24-0 lead, only to have Warwick rattle off 6 bouts in a row to tie it 24-24! Both teams traded pins at 145 & 152…ending in a 30-30 TIE! So we went to criteria & Warwick pulled out the 31-30 win on the strength of winning 7 bouts on the night compared to Cocalico’s 6! For the 2nd time this season, Conestoga Valley pushed Warwick to their limits! BUT the Warriors came away with the Win AGAIN… 3-1! Warwick stayed atop the Section 1 standings at 6-1 with a HUGE matchup against Cedar Crest (their only loss in 2024) looming next Tuesday, April 23!
