5A State Boys Basketball Playoffs (1st Rd): Mars vs. Manheim Central (3-10-23)

Manheim Township REPEATED as L-L League Field Hockey Champions 🏆 beating Section 1 rival Warwick 1-0! Julia Weaver scored the only goal of the game for the Blue Streaks in the 2nd quarter! (This is now back to back years Township has beaten Warwick in the League Final)

▪️ Both teams now turn their attention to the District 3 Playoffs starting Wednesday, October 23! Warwick is #1 in 2A and Manheim Township is #1 in 3A!

On the latest episode of Sportstalk... we continued to talk about the Winter Sports Season & check back in on our local girls basketball teams! In this conversation, we looked at the Ephrata Lady Mounts & Manheim Central Lady Barons... who are both chasing Section Titles this season! In addition, we talked about Maddie Knier's 1,000th point moment, Jasmine Griffin's quest to reach 1K & Cocalico Lady Eagle Kiersten Shipton breaking a program record! #6 Manheim Central moved onto the next round of 5A District 3 Playoffs after a 32-25 win over #11 Cocalico! Lady Barons also qualified for the PIAA State Tournament in March! For Central, Gianna Walters had 12 points, including a pair of 3-pointers… giving her a Single-Season High 51–3’s (101 Career)! Maddie Gehman added 11 points, 9 in the first half to get the Lady Barons going! Cocalico’s Kira Lehman dropped a Game-High 14 points, but the Lady Eagles season ended at 12-11!
